The aim of this article is to present documentation about one of the congregations founded in Madrid around the figure of Mariana de Jesús, a Discalced Mercedarian tertiary. Patron saint of the Spanish capital, the devotion of the people of Madrid began in her later years and grew throughout the 17th century, reaching its peak with her beatification in 1783.
