For several centuries, women have been considered inferior beings, unable to fend for themselves without the help of a man to whom they are subordinate. He rules and controls her life in all orders. For this reason, when a woman requests to enter a convent, the ecclesiastical hierarchy takes all kinds of precautions to prevent her from being forced to do so by her condition of dependence. In this paper we address the situation in the convent of the Capuchin Sisters in A Coruña.
